PRESCHOOL

The preschool program focuses on motor, social, cognitive and language development through the exploration of know-how and soft skills in a museum environment. At Pointe-du-Buisson, we believe that a visit to the museum is an experience in itself for the preschooler. It is therefore rhythmic, revolving around play, and helps lay the foundations for a child's conception of what a museum is.

To achieve this, we offer a range of activities in which the child is the master of his or her own learning. These include activities that build bridges between the museum's artifacts and the child's reality. In addition, some activities allow children to evolve in a new environment, while developing their motor skills. Other aspects of the visit allow for experimentation with games, giving children the chance to unleash their energy in a creative environment that encourages learning.

All these activities are supervised by activity leaders who help children structure their thinking through reasoning, deduction and symbolic representations.
